Research firm SNS Telecom recently released its latest report on the U.S. private 5G market, Private 5G Networks in the United States: 2024-2030. In the report, the company forecasts that spending on private LTE/5G in the United States will expand at a CAGR of 18% from 2024 to 2027, with total investment exceeding $3.7 billion (approximately $580 billion) over the same period.

SNS Telecom noted that the commercial deployment of private 5G networks "is rapidly gaining momentum for industrial and enterprise applications. Notable examples of facilities with private 5G in operation or deployed include Wal-Mart's distribution center and Tesla's Gigafactory Texas, BMW Group's Spartanburg plant, GM's Factory ZERO assembly center, Toyota Material Handling's Columbus Manufacturing Complex, LG Electronics' Clarksville plant, and Delta Air Lines' Atlanta Operations Hub.

He also noted that an emerging trend in the field is "the growing deployment of private network-based neutral host solutions to enhance coverage of public cellular networks for indoor use, where DAS (Distributed Antenna System) installations are considered costly and complex. With the presence of the license-free 3.5 GHz CBRS spectrum band, private networks supporting neutral host operations are increasingly being deployed in industrial and public facilities, hospitals, hotels, and educational institutions across the country," the report explains.
