Nextivity, a leading networking and coverage technology company, announced on December 5 that it will collaborate with LG Electronics of South Korea on private 5G services for enterprise customers. The two companies will offer a combination of Nextivity's Distributed Antenna System (DAS) and LG's private 5G solution. They will jointly develop, market, and deploy advanced 5G infrastructure for enterprises in a wide range of industries, including education, retail, healthcare, and warehousing.
In the first joint project between the two companies, LG's "Private 5G UltraSlim" system will be installed at Nextivity's Customer Experience Center in San Diego to test interoperability with Nextivity's "CEL-FI" DAS solution. LG offers autonomous mobile robots, digital signage, POS systems, and advanced AR applications running on private 5G, and Nextivity's customers are expected to be able to deploy these advanced 5G IoT solutions as well in the future.
Commenting on the collaboration, Michiel Lotter, CEO of Nextivity, said, "This takes our mission of 'doing more with DAS' to a whole new level." Joon-sung Lee, VP of LG's Private Network Division, also commented, "We will be able to offer our enterprise customers the fastest route to see the impact of 5G in their business.
