NTT DATA to Provide Local 5G and Smart City Solutions to Brownsville, Texas

Brownsville, Texas, USA, recently decided to implement NTT Data's local 5G and smart solutions. The city will use data analytics and AI, enhanced by a secure and seamless wireless network, to enhance citizen services, improve public safety, achieve sustainability goals, and achieve effective economic growth.

NTT Data will build and manage a high-speed, low-latency turnkey (ready-to-use), local 5G network to provide seamless connectivity throughout the city. The first phase of the smart solution will be deployed in the city's downtown area, including four public parks, public works sites, and the airport, to provide real-time data analysis, forecasts, and recommendations, as well as to monitor and manage public areas and streets. The project will also utilize new and existing data collection devices to establish IoT connectivity throughout the city.
