Finland's Nokia recently announced a three-year agreement with local telecommunications giant Telefonica to develop the local 5G market in Spain. Through this collaboration, the two companies aim to improve productivity, worker safety, and sustainability in key industries such as ports, manufacturing, and logistics.

With this agreement, Nokia will deploy advanced solutions in Spain, including local wireless solutions Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) and Modular Private Wireless (MPW), edge solutions Mission Critical Industrial Edge (MXIE), and industrial devices. Adrián García Nevado, Business Director of Telefónica Spain, said, "This collaboration with Nokia is in line with our vision of empowering industry with cutting-edge technology in a new era led by AI and data utilization," adding, "With this strategy, already preceded by more than 90 use cases by real customers to explore the potential of 5G," he commented.

Note that Nokia also partnered with Telefonica in June 2023 to provide private LTE/local 5G solutions in the Latin American region.
